5.  ਫੈਸਲਾ The case has been discussed at length. The functioning of the meter is correct and O.K. It is the negligence of Meter Reader who recorded the readings incorrectly by ignoring 6¬th digit. The consumption data has been perused and it is apparent that the Meter Reader inadvertently omitted the Ist digit of “1” in the reading taken on 30-05-2012 and it stands incorporated again on the reading taken on 22-11-2012. Thus, the bill for this month i.e. 22-11-2012 works out to be 8832 units. The difference of reading reconciles when this 6th digit is correctly read i.e. (157210 and 148378), thus the consumption for this period comes to 8832 units and the consumer may be charged accordingly. The reading for the next month may be taken in six digits while taking reading from 157210. The account of the consumer be overhauled alongwith interest as per instructions of PSPCL.
