5.  ਫੈਸਲਾ The case has been deliberated at length. The consumer Sh. Prem Lal SDO pointed out that the consumption recorded by the meter for the month of May, June and July, 2012 has been abnormally high and therefore, it is a case of jumping of figures of the meter. He further said that it is a Government water supply connection and normal consumption has been in the range of 7000 to 9000 units. The committee perused the consumption pattern of this connection and observed that the normal consumption of this connection has been recorded as varying from 7000 to 10000 units but in the month of May, June and July 2012 the consumption as worked out from the meter reading is 46518, 54851 and 52454 respectively. After deliberating and considering all aspects of the case, the committee agrees with the consumer that this is a case of meter jumping. The disputed period in this case is of summer season and accordingly the consumption for the month of 04/2012 which is 11813 units per month may be charged for the disputed period i.e. May, June and July, 2012. The account of the consumer may be overhauled accordingly as per instructions of PSPCL. The interest as applicable under the rules may also be charged if any.
