5.  ਫੈਸਲਾ The case came up for hearing before the committee again on 23-09-11. Sh. Sukhdev Singh Randhawa, Executive Officer, Nagar Panchayat, Goraya appeared before the committee. Er. Baljinder Singh, Dy. CE/DS Circle Nawanshahar presented the case before the committee for discussion. The case has been discussed at length. The consumer has submitted that some streetlight points have been removed by the National Highway Authority of India because of the widening of the G.T. Road. He has further submitted that the maintenance of streetlight is already with the PSPCL, so that the Nagar Panchayat Goraya is not liable to pay this amount. The sanctioned load stands, as it is in the name of Nagar Panchayat Goraya and no reason whatsoever has been made for the reduction of the sanctioned load. The streetlight category charges are quite clear in this behalf. This case is decided that the amount charged is fully justified and Nagar Panchayat Goraya is liable to pay the same. Interest/surcharge may be recovered from the consumer as per instructions of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited.
