4.  ਵਰਨਣ This case came up for hearing before the Committee on 22-11-2016. Er. Gopal Sharma, Dy. CE/DS Circle, Jalandhar presented the case before the Committee. Smt. Harjit Kaur consumer appeared before the committee in person. She has undertaken to submit the representation/petition. The copy of the representation when submitted shall be forwarded to Dy. CE/DS Circle, Jalandhar for his comments to be submitted to the commitee with a copy to the consumer and the consumer may submit her rebuttal if any. The Dy. CE/DS Circle Jalandhar was directed to furnished the complete details of the case along with the period of the disputed bill and the consumption data for the last three years along with dates of the readings. The case is adjourned to next date of hearing.
5.  ਫੈਸਲਾ This case again came up for hearing before the Committee on 24.01.2017. Er. Gopal Sharma, Dy. CE/DS Circle, Jalandhar presented the case before the Committee. . Smt. Harjit Kaur, the consumer appeared before the committee in person. She reiterated that consumption of 15034 units as per disputed bill was never recorded before and after the replacement of challenged meter. The committee studied the consumption data of the consumer and noted that consumption of 15034 units relates to the summer period from 11.6.2015 to 11.8.2015 (2 months). The monthly consumption (after the replacement of meter in 2/2016) has been recorded as 5227 units & 8663 units in 5/2015 & 6/2016. As such, the consumption of 15034 units (disputed bill) for the period 11.6.2015 to 11.8.2015 is almost comparable with the consumption of summer months of succeeding year. Further, the accuracy of the meter was also declared OK in ME/lab and there is no evidence of jumping of reading of the meter. The case was discussed in length by the Committee and it was unanimously decided that the amount of the bill for the period 11.6.2015 to 11.8.2015 is fully justified and recoverable from the consumer.
